In Eph 4:4 we read, "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;". The word "doctrine" means "teaching" and is not specific to theological application or biblical theology. Instead of believing and repeating the hysteria, we ought to be going to the Lord about it, to see what He is saying on the matter and matters like this rather than falling into the enemy's trap of fear. But rather speak God's truth, and establish a credible testimony with the unbeliever.

Hey Pat!
ReplyDeleteElenin sure is blasting all over Youtube and the blogosphere for sure. It reminds me of the Y2K scare. Thinking back, the Y2K thing made a few people a lot of money by generating fear. Fear sells.
However the Y2K thing at least made a modicum of sense. This was a much more tangible problem than the current Elenin hype. The premise was that at 00:00:00 all the cpu clocks wouldn't know what to do, blah blah blah, "this fits biblical prophecy, hype hype hype", and then Jesus Returns - (buy the way buy my book!) -> $$$ lolz
I agree! Christians should go to God directly about these things. The world is watching us, and we look pretty bad sometimes. Like Harold Camping's failed rapture prediction. Christians should immediately hear "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." (Matt 24:36). (Christians read your bibles OK?)
Oh, yeah, i had to snicker a little bit at your referral link. .gov? ha ha! The pitch is that this is all a big government conspiracy!
Be blessed!
